Camp La Llanada
Staff & Program Coordinator
June 2012 - August 2018 (seasonal)

While many discourage the inclusion of summer camp experience in a resume, I will always attribute my success to the time I spent in La Llanada. The personal growth and soft skills I obtained are invaluable and shaped me to be the person I am today - it built in me real leadership and mentoring, an eye for emotional care of others, and a sense of responsibility that only exists when hundreds of people depend on your command.

I started as a junior counselor and scaled myself up to be the first staff & program coordinator aside another individual. This role showed me how to be a leader for a varied group of people of different ages, under constant stress and tight deadlines, and to handle a small budget for big plans.
This experience taught me to always be a team player, to care for those around me, and to put a common goal before anything, as long as everyone participating feels good about it.

For 5 years, I participated in active recruiting, training, and individual evaluation practices for over 100 counselors.
