Chapter Vice-president

August 2017 - January 2019

 

During my tenure as a member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), I was in charge of planning two trips to the yearly national convention that the organization hosts. For these trips, I acted as trip leader, recruited members and sourced enough funding for all attendees to join expense-free.

The SHPE National Convention is a unique experience that provides students an immense network of students, professionals and academia for four days in a different city each year. Our chapter attended in 2017 in Kansas City, MI and in 2018 in Cleveland, OH.

Before attending each conference, I held resume and interview workshops for members to become familiar with the process of aggressive networking with the goal of acquiring an internship or full-time position.
